As school leavers receive their grades and make life changing decisions on which path they wish to pursue, industry leading full service provider Quality International has made a plea to those who are thinking about careers in engineering to seriously consider this line of work.
It has been estimated that the demand for engineering professionals is set to rise in the UK in the next 10 years due to advances in technology and changes in the industry and consumer demands. Research published by the UK Department for Education and Skills highlights this increase and forecasts that the market will expand at a rate of 2% a year.
However, a recent report from the Engineering Council showed that the 'drop-out' rate in engineering works before graduation exceeded that of any other subject.
"Engineering can be a well-paid profession for those with the right education, training and skills. From first hand experience I can tell you that there are many engineers that go on to have rewarding and fulfilling careers and enjoy huge job satisfaction," explains Paul Dixon, Managing Director of Quality International UK Ltd.
"As an employer of engineers, I know the courses out there can be tough but they ultimately prepare graduates with the knowledge and hands-on skills to be successful in a variety of roles. Our comprehensive training gets them up to speed with the specific work that we conduct but an engineering course lays a great foundation to build upon."
